Figelicious

The fig tree in the front garden is doing it’s level best to produce edible figs. Sadly the wind has blown down several before they were properly ripe, and one or two were slugged. However, I have given a few away to appreciative fig-loving people because I can’t get enthusiastic about them eaten raw. Dried yes, no problem.

I doubt if many more will make it to the edible stage, given the weather forecast but at least we have had more than last year. I just found a small perfectly ripe one and decided to make a smoothie with it. 1 banana, 1 fig and a little pineapple juice = a figelicious smoothie 😀 Now i want them to ripen and I won’t be giving them all away lol.

Here’s a pic of one of the mini aubergines, glorious colour ain’t it?
