WooHoo a ripe tomato!

Here it is shyly hiding away among all the other green ones. It’s one of the Tumbling Toms.

This is what our back yard looks like at the moment, or at least the summer house does anyway. Yes that is where I sit and enjoy the sun – when we get any. Can’t complain these last 2 days though, it’s been baking out there.

We had an unexpected visitor the other day, he was confused by the clear roofing in the summer house and couldn’t find a way out. I got him to perch on my finger and carried him out. What a beauty.

Oh dear, oh dear…

The bad news is that I am expecting to lose my courgette plants to mildew again. Had to remove several leaves today and one small courgette. Don’t know if it’s just the weather or maybe the location. Last year I moved them outside but they still died off one by one. *sniffle* I really thought they were going to be ok this time, they looked so healthy, with lots of flowers. Oh well, nowt I can do about it.

The good news is that the Mexican Sour Gherkins are doing just fine, and there are lots of flowers on the melon plants. Plenty of tomatoes but none ripe as yet. And don’t sweetcorn and nasturtiums look good together?

Purple pods

The pics of the flowers were fuzzy – too breezy. However, the pods are fine.

Swiftius Purloinus in all its glory

What a colour. You can just about see the red veining around the leaf where it joins the stem.

I finally sorted out the pineapple weed saga. The pic currently heading the blog is corn chamomile I think, and this is pineapple weed. Same family I believe.
